Information you provide

When you submit a contact or quote request, we collect the information you choose to provide. The quote form asks for your first and last name, phone number, email address if provided, property address, property type, the areas you would like lit, project notes, and how you heard about us.

If you contact us by phone or email, we may also receive the contact details and project information you share in that conversation. Please avoid including sensitive personal information that is not needed for your lighting request.

As an inquiry becomes a customer project, our records may also include estimates, accepted quotes, scheduling details, invoices, and related communications.

How information is used

We use this information to respond to inquiries, track leads, prepare designs and estimates, manage customer relationships, schedule work, issue invoices, and communicate about projects. It also supports installation and any maintenance, removal, or storage agreed for a project, along with business recordkeeping.

Website records and service providers

Website quote requests are stored in Lovable Cloud. After a request is saved, the website attempts to send an owner email notification and copy the quote details to Google Sheets. These notifications and spreadsheet copies may fail without preventing the request from being saved; successful delivery of every copy is not guaranteed.

Google Sheets is used for lead tracking. Jobber is a service provider for our normal customer workflow, including customer management, quotes, scheduling, invoicing, and communications. Relevant customer and project details may be entered manually into Jobber as part of that workflow. Jobber is not automatically connected to the website quote form, and submitting an inquiry does not mean that your information has already been entered into Jobber.

Email services process inquiry notifications and correspondence. Lovable Cloud, Google Sheets, Jobber, and other providers supporting hosting, storage, or communications may process relevant information to provide their services. Information handled within those services is also subject to their applicable privacy terms and practices.

Retention of information

Retention depends on the purpose of the record, whether an inquiry leads to a project, ongoing customer needs, and applicable legal, accounting, or business recordkeeping requirements. Records may exist in website storage, email, Google Sheets, and Jobber; these copies may have different retention needs, including provider backup requirements. This policy does not set a fixed retention period for all records.

Security limitations

Protecting customer information requires care in how records are accessed, stored, and shared. No website, electronic transmission, email, or storage service is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be lost, accessed without authorization, or affected by a security incident.

Website technology and third-party links

Visiting the website involves sending technical information, such as your IP address and browser request details, to hosting and delivery services. Third-party resources, including externally loaded fonts, may also receive technical request information. This is separate from the details you choose to submit in the quote form.

This policy does not represent that the website is free of cookies or other browser storage. If analytics or advertising measurement tools are introduced, their information collection will need to be reflected in this policy and any applicable notices or choices.

The website or our communications may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies; please review those policies before providing information to them.

Your questions and contact requests

Email nick@upstatelightsny.com or use the phone number below to ask about your information, request access, correction or deletion, or ask us to stop contacting you about an inquiry. Provide enough detail to identify the relevant records without sending unnecessary sensitive information.

Requests are considered in light of the records involved and applicable legal or business recordkeeping requirements. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. Deletion may not apply to records that need to be retained or to all provider backups, and this policy does not promise a fixed response or deletion timeline.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or information practices change. Updates will appear on this page with a revised Last Updated date.
